Bronny James had a disappointing college basketball season last year at USC.

LeBron James' son Bronny James has entered the transfer portal to move on from USC
Bronny James has had a disappointing season at USC this year. The son of LeBron James was touted as one of the top picks in this year’s NBA Draft. However, his down season has led many to suggest he should not continue to play in college for one more year. However, new rumors suggest that James Jr. has entered the transfer portal to leave USC, leaving fans aghast.
In 2023, Bronny James had the misfortune of suffering a cardiac arrest during practice. That situation pushed his debut and caused him to miss games. After returning, he was a starter, but his performances were largely disappointing. His stats alone have led him to be left out of the draft boards of many premier publications. It also brought criticism from all quarters of the basketball world asking him to stay on for one more year.

After all, playing for the USC Trojans was a long-thought-out plan by the James family. His illustrious father moved to the Los Angeles Lakers to pave the way for his sons to attend college at USC. The Trojans have a decent college basketball setup and could have enabled James Jr. to make his case for a top pick.
Entering the portal suggests that he thinks his development was stunted by the USC coaching staff. Or he could better show off his skills in a different program. Moreover, fellow guard and teammate, Isaiah Collier’s elite play overshadowed the 6′ 4″ guard.
Fans compare Bronny to his father LeBron James
When the rumor floated around, many fans thought that Bronny James was doing the same things his father LeBron James had done in his career. That is to move to a better team where he can shine and win games. USC had a largely disappointing college basketball season. Maybe James Jr. thinks that he could produce better in a better program such as UCLA which is also in Los Angeles.
Fans however did not miss the chance to troll and comment on the freshman. They took to social media to express their opinion.
A fan suggested that he’d be benched no matter which team he plays for. Another said UCLA would be a better pick for the young player since its walking distance from his home. Although it is still a rumor, if Bronny James goes ahead with the process, fans will liken his decision to that of his father. After all, LeBron James has moved to a better situation to win NBA titles.
