After securing the National championship for the LSU Tigers, Angel Reese has reportedly become the projected highest earner in Women’s College basketball. The NIL value stands for the Name, Image, and Likeness value, and Angel Reese has shot up in these categories since the start of March Madness. Reese has gained over 2 million followers on social media since then and has a valuation of $1.3 million.
Angel Reese ranks #1 amongst all women’s college basketball athletes regarding her NIL valuation. The rising star has one more year of college basketball left, which only leaves the potential for her value to increase. According to the NIL tracker, Angel Reese signed three new deals in the first week of April following her college success which has shot her value up.
Reese blew up all over social media following her team’s success and due to her trash-talking after the championship game against the Iowa Hawkeyes. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese made national headlines after their alleged dispute and both of them have said that it was in the spirit of the game and there is no bad blood between them.
Angel Reese claims she is in no rush to play in the WNBA following title win and multiple brand deals
The sophomore at Louisiana State University, who won’t be eligible for the WNBA draft until the next year, says she’s enjoying her time in college. Reese recently stated on the “I Am Athlete” podcast, “I’m in no rush to go to the league. The money I’m making is more than some of the league’s potential top players,” said the LSU Tigers champion.
According to a March Sponsor United report, Reese’s on-court accomplishments have earned her 17 NIL sponsorship deals with companies, including Amazon and Coach. According to the article, that is more than any other college basketball player. Reese’s NIL worth shot up from around $320K on March 28th to over a million dollars as of April 11th.
WNBA players do not have as high a salary as their male counterparts; however, they earn a significant amount of money from NIL sponsorship deals, and Angel Reese is doing the same in college. Reese claims she has decided where she will spend her money, saying she wants to buy a Mercedes Benz on the “I Am Athlete” podcast.
