“You want to see a fight?” Shannon Sharpe goes off on Kim Mulkey for comments on wild LSU – South Carolina brawl
South Carolina went up against LSU in the SEC Championship game.

Shannon Sharpe went off against LSU head coach Kim Mulkey's comments after brawl in their SEC Championship game against South Carolina
The South Carolina Gamecocks entered the SEC Championship game against defending NCAA champions, the LSU Tigers. The tensions between the two sides led to a late-game brawl.
This led to Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey giving some choice statements. NFL Hall of Famer and analyst Shannon Sharpe went off against Mulkey’s comments about the brawl.

Mulkey suggested after the game that South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso should have pushed Angel Reese instead. Sharpe, while speaking on First Take, went off against Mulkey’s stray and uncalled-for comments.
You see what Dawn Staley said, and how she tried to downplay it? And you see Kim Mulkey, how she tried to up-play it? But for you to take that 'I wish Cardoso would've pushed Angel Reese'. Really? Is that what you want. You want to see a fight? C'mon Kim Mulkey, you've got to be better. And we've got to start doing a better job of holding Kim Mulkey accountable, and responsible for some of her comments..... I believe she was wrong in this instant.Shannon Sharpe
Sharpe alluded that as a head coach, Mulkey should have tried to calm the situation down. Instead, she made it look like they wanted a fight to happen.
Cardoso and LSU center Angel Reese were scrapping throughout the game. As per Mulkey’s suggestion had Cardoso pushed Reese, the fight would have taken a different turn. Reese would have fought back against Cardoso, possibly making the fight bigger than what transpired.
LSU wanted to make a statement against South Carolina, who were the only undefeated team in the NCAA. After scrapping throughout the game, the brawl erupted in the final minutes of the 4th quarter. It is when Cardoso pushed Flau’jae Johnson onto the floor.
Shannon Sharpe feels brawl marred great year for women’s basketball
This year, the NCAA women’s college basketball year has brought a lot of attention. Caitlin Clark would get the lion’s share of the credit for bringing that attention. However, the heights of that attention started with last year’s NCAA tournament final. LSU’s Angel Reese taunting Clark while winning the title brought a whole new level of fans onto the women’s basketball scene.
This season, Clark has been headlining the front pages of every media outlet with her record-breaking feats. The rise of USC’s Juju Watkins has also helped the narrative. South Carolina’s undefeated season added to the hype as well. The back-to-back WNBA titles by the Las Vegas Aces was celebrated around the world. Sabrina Ionescu breaking new ground with her 3-point contest against Stephen Curry only heightened the attention.
After all this, to dampen the game with scrappy play and a brawl dampened the hype. Kim Mulkey’s comments will hurt the sentiments more. This is why Shannon Sharpe asked Mulkey to show some class. Especially when women’s basketball is growing.
