The LSU women’s team has stormed through t the Elite Eight, and Vanessa Bryant had a special gift for the team. On Saturday, the college team received a pair of Nike Kobe 6 trainers in the “Grinch” colorway from Vanessa Bryant, the late Kobe Bryant’s widow. When they opened the boxes and discovered their brand-new shoes, the players were excited as they captured and posted them on Twitter via LSU’s official handle.
In an exciting game, the Tigers recently defeated the Utah Utes in the Sweet 16. LaDazhia Williams, a forward for LSU, made 11 of 14 shots for a season-high 24 points, arguably her most outstanding performance of the year. Sophomore Angel Reese scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, which tied her for the most double-doubles in SEC history.
LSU is in the Elite Eight for the first time since 2008 when it reached the Final Four. The Tigers will face the No. 9 seed Miami Hurricanes on Sunday. LSU players will look to unleash their Mamba mentality by wearing their Kobe’s in the next round. Kobe never played college basketball but has left his imprint on every level of the game and Vanessa Bryant will hope that LSU uses these shoes to carry on his legacy.

Vanessa Bryant is giving LSU much-needed luck as they face the killers of the #1 seed, the Miami Hurricanes, in the next round
The Miami Hurricanes, who face LSU tomorrow, were the giant killers as they beat #1, Indiana. On the Hoosiers’ court on Monday, Miami defeated Indiana 70-68 in the second round, eliminating the No. 1 seed for the second day in a row from the women’s NCAA tournament. For the first time this century, the #1 seeds in the women’s NCAA tournament failed to reach the Sweet Sixteen.
Eighth-seeded Ole Miss pulled their weight to beat the #1 Stanford and make history. Miami also defeated Indiana in the second round of the men’s NCAA tournament to advance to the Sweet 16. Miami and LSU have a compelling matchup on the cards, as both teams are in red-hot form and are motivated to win.
Vanessa Bryant hopes that the LSU women can use the shoes as motivation to advance past the Miami Hurricanes. However, the LSU women are under no pressure as the camaraderie in the team is high at the moment. LSU takes on Miami on Sunday Night as March Madness stress heightens for fans all over the United States of America.
