The NBA family faced a sudden shock when a tragic news came their way. Popular and legendary Hall of Fame center Dikembe Mutombo passed away at 58 after battling brain cancer. Renowned for his defensive prowess and signature finger-wag, Mutombo was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2022.

Dikembe Mutombo enjoyed an 18-season NBA career. He played for six teams, including the Denver Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, and Houston Rockets. He dominated on defense, winning the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award four times and earning three All-NBA selections.

The NBA world is mourning the loss of four-time Defensive Player of the Year Dikembe Mutombo. After a long battle with a brain tumor, he passed away. In his statement, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver honored Mutombo, praising not only his dominant presence on the court but also his kind heart and humanitarian contributions off the court.
