If there’s one club that’s been more affected than Bayern Munich because of Bayer Leverkusen’s success, it’s Arsenal and their unbeaten run. Xabi Alonso and co. recently extended their historic unbeaten run to 50 games with a win against VfL Bochum. A statement 5-0 win by Alonso’s men has X buzzing with excitement.

While Leverkusen have now surpassed the record held by Benfica, they can attain the unbelievable feat of securing an unbeaten treble. Augsburg, Atalanta and Kaiserslautern stand between them. In other words, the footballing community is completely in awe of the manner in which Leverkusen keep going from strength to strength.

In their latest win, Leverkusen left nothing to doubt, as goals from five different players earned them their 50th win. With one game left to play, Leverkusen can attain an impressive tally of 90 points if they are to win the game against Augsburg.

Xabi Alonso‘s men are on the verge of making history yet again as just three games stand between them and an unbeaten treble. A fan commented that Leverkusen are the true ‘invincibles’ and not Arsenal, who drew a total of 12 games in their run-up to the League title in 2003/2004.

Another added that the club have well and truly forgotten the feeling of how it is to lose a game of football. Alonso’s name was surely set to remain for decades in history as a fan opined that the one’s set by him will not be broken again in this generation. Some were also surprised that they managed to do this all while being loved by the footballing community.
