When Bayley made her debut in NXT, her character quickly got over among the fans. The same character, when coming to the main roster, also saw a meteoric rise. One of the key aspects of that gimmick was the fan favorite Bayley Buddies. The gigantic balloons became an identity for the ‘Hugger Bayley’. However, she massacred them all in 2019 when she turned heel.
In her appearance on Ring the Belle, the Role Model was asked if there was any chance of a return of her ‘Bayley Buddies’. Bayley responded by saying that she had to move on from her past, and that’s why she left them behind.
No. They're not going to come back. They're dead. I moved on. That was a chapter 10 years ago, you know? Like, it's time to move on. Maybe something else, though. Maybe if I have a blow-up of something else. Yeah, maybe they're like blow-up basketball hoops so I can freaking swish in front of everybody on the ramp.Bayley via Ring The Belle
Moreover, the 35-year-old expressed a desire to bring back something else in her gimmick. She divulged a wish that she would like to see some blow-ups of basketball hoops during her entrance to give her a more sporty look. Besides, the last blow-ups the Role Model had a sad ending. It marked the heel turn of the ‘Hugger Bayley’ who turned into the ‘Role Model’.
Furthermore, the former Women’s Champion is positive about herself in the future. She recently lost her title at SummerSlam and has been looking to get it back once again. It is rumored that she might once again go up against Nia Jax at Bash in Berlin.
Bayley addressed the possibility of a Damage CTRL reunion
In 2022, Bayley called up two talented females to the main roster from NXT. They were Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai. The group came to be known as Damage CTRL and became a fan-favorite faction. The Role Model parted ways with the faction earlier this year to move on to her singles run. Recently, the former Women’s Champion addressed the possibility of a reunion with her friends in WWE.
Speaking with Wrestlezone, the 35-year-old said that if it was up to her, she would have reunited with her friends. She added that parting ways was not her plan. However, it was the only way they could have gone. Moreover, Bayley added that she wanted to show the world how talented Sky and Kai were, and that’s what she did by the formation of Damage CTRL.
I always thought that was an option, but it was never my plan. If it were up to me, we’d still be together right now,Bayley via Wrestlezone
Furthermore, the Role Model went on to say that if she got a chance to reform the Damage CTRL, she would call two new talents from NXT to give them a chance. The former Women’s Champion added that the vision of the faction was to always put over the talent that has been overlooked.
