WWE Women’s Champion Bayley was excited about Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn winning the Tag Team Championships. She also successfully defended her title against Scotland’s own Piper Niven at Clash at the Castle. The Role Model sent The Unholy Union a heartfelt message after their first-ever major title victory since joining the main roster.
After their shocking victory, Bayley took to social media and told everyone how proud she was of the Scottish wrestler. The 35-year-old star also congratulated them on their win and praised them as the new Women’s Tag Team Champions. The champ celebrated her birthday there, and she was captured on camera with a cake alongside CM Punk.
Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn earned their opportunity when they attacked the tag team of Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler. After the three-way rivalry intensified, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill agreed to defend their titles in a triple threat match in Scotland. In the final moments of the match, the 33-year-old showed in-ring awareness and pinned an already battered Queen of Spades to win the titles.
I admire you so much, Alba. Congratulations to out NEW women's tag champs!Bayley on X
It will be interesting to see if the new champions can lead the women’s division as effectively as Cargill and Belair did. Meanwhile, Bayley will now be looking forward to her next challenge at Money in the Bank PLE. However, a formidable opponent in the form of Nia Jax is also lurking around the title after she became the Queen of the Ring.
Bayley went the extra mile to make sure that the storyline involving her and Damage CTRL got more attention
Bayley became the WWE Women’s Champion after defeating her former friend Iyo Sky at WrestleMania XL. The storyline and buildup to the Show of Shows were widely liked by the WWE Universe. The Role Model revealed that she tried her best to make fans care about their storyline going into their big match.
While speaking to Inside The Ropes, the 35-year-old star gave her perspective on how the storyline was built. She felt that a storyline could be much more than what’s just shown on TV. Bayley made a series of compelling videos about their storied rivalry on social media in preparation for their match. She stated that sometimes superstars do get less TV time leading up to the WrestleMania season.
Yeah, I definitely did. We could feel it too, I felt that we just kind of skipped…once the match was made, it kind of just skipped and we just kind of, “Alright, we don’t need anything else,” but there was so much more to tell going into ‘Mania, and I think after, we had so much more to tell, then they got drafted.Bayley via Inside The Ropes
After finally getting her revenge on Io and the entire Damage CTRL for kicking her out, the champ still felt there was so much more to explore. However, in the recently concluded 2024 WWE Draft, the notorious group was drafted to Raw, a different brand than Bayley’s. Ultimately, their rivalry was put to rest after the Show of Shows.
