Caleb Williams and DJ Moore sealed a déjà vu moment in the Chicago Bears’ wild-card win over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. It was a win the city of Chicago had been searching for 15 years.

Fans want the ball in the hands of the team’s best player with the game and the season on the line. Williams may not have been flawless in his second year, but he is consistently shown his clutch ability when it matters most.

With fewer than two minutes left until the final whistle, Williams stepped back and threw a pass towards his best receiver. Moore managed to break free of the Packers’ 19th-best red zone defense to score a 25-yard touchdown.

Cairo Santos‘ extra point increased the Bears’ lead to three points. The game ended with a Jordan Love fumble followed by an interception. It finished 31-27 in favor of the Bears.

Williams finished with 24 completions (50%) for 361 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Moore caught 6 passes for 64 yards and one score.

According to NFL research, Williams became the first Bears quarterback to record two wins against the Packers in one season since Jim Harbaugh in 1991.

In Week 16 of the regular season, Williams threw a 46-yard TD pass to Moore to snatch a win over the Packers. The Packers failed to recover after the defeat. They lost the remaining two games and dropped to 9-7-1 and second in the NFC North behind the 11-6 Bears.

It’s no fluke. … It’s been proven for us to be a great second-half team. … If the game comes down to the final two minutes, I believe in us.

Saturday’s wildcard win was the Bears’ first postseason win since beating the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC divisional round game in 2010. Both of their last two trips to the playoffs ended in defeats in the wildcard (2018 and 2020).

According to NFL research, the Bears had the most comeback wins in 2025, securing seven victories from losing positions in the final two minutes.

Williams is the third-youngest quarterback (under 25), drafted first overall in the common draft era to win a playoff game and rack up seven fourth-quarter comebacks.

Caleb Williams poked fun at the Packers

The Bears fans were quick to convert Williams into a hater of the Packers organization. Right after he was drafted, Williams had made NSFW comments about the team from the Wisconsin Bay Area, famous for its cheese.

Williams, Moore, and Loveland, the Bears’ top three players, playfully taunted the Packers by sporting cheese grater hats during the post-game interview. Williams even went the extra mile by grating a block of cheese.

Williams is now 3-2 against the Packers, including the playoff win (2-2 in the regular season). He fell short by 58 yards required to become the first Bears QB with 4000 yards in a season. Regardless, he accumulated 30 total TDs, 7 picks, and had a passer rating of 90.1.
