When the Chicago Bears drafted the best quarterback of the 2024 batch, Caleb Williams, they made to have a strong receiving corps for him to rely on. Not only did they sign one of the most productive receivers of this era, Keenan Allen, but they also drafted Rome Odunze as the ninth overall pick to strengthen the receiving squad.

After being drafted in the 2013 third-round, Allen quickly established his prominence and posted an impressive debut season by logging 71 catches for 1,046 yards and eight touchdowns. However, he believes the newly drafted Odunze is even better than him.

[Rome Odunze] He’s a little bit better than me when I came in. He’s faster. I think he comes out of his breaks better than I did when I was that young. He looks more polished than I was as a receiver.
Keenan Allen said during Sunday’s press conference (H/T: Bearswire)

The former Chargers star receiver might be generous in comparing his remarkable rookie campaign to Odunze. The standards are quite high for the 2024 Draft’s ninth-overall pick to match.

Odunze and Allen will be joining DJ Moore in the receiving corps and together they are anticipated to be one of the best-receiving trio in the league. This way, the Bears are ensuring that Williams is not burdened to carry the entire offensive line on his shoulder and instead focus on playing up to his standards.

Keenan Allen confident in offensive potential with DJ Moore

Even though Allen wanted to end his NFL career with the Chargers, he seems to be having a good time in the Windy City. Especially since he has been paired with star receiver Moore, which Allen referred to as the best duo in the league.

I don’t even know who else has a duo. Give me another duo. Tyreek [Hill] and [Jaylen] Waddle are pretty good. [But] it’s me and D.J., come on, now
Keenan Allen added

With Allen and Moore in the offense, the Bears are shaping up as a threatening offensive line. That is to say, even if Williams couldn’t perform at his best– he can rely upon the offensive weapons and finish the season at a fine point.
