- Belal Muhammad criticized the UFC White House event, calling it a scheme not intended for real fans.
- The event, UFC Freedom Fights 250, will have limited attendance, with no tickets sold to the public.
- Concerns over fan accessibility have been echoed by other fighters, including Sean Strickland.
Since its announcement during the UFC 326 broadcast, the UFC White House card has drawn mixed reactions from fans and fighters alike. Many fans and fighters found the lineup underwhelming compared to typical UFC events. Its purpose has been majorly questioned within the broader MMA community. Welterweight contender Belal Muhammad recently described the event as a scheme not focused on fans.
Muhammad has been a mainstay in the UFC welterweight rankings for several years, consistently facing top competition. He has been somewhat out of the public eye since his UFC Qatar loss to Ian Garry. However, “Bully B” is now scheduled to return to action against rising contender Gabriel Bonfim. The matchup is set to headline UFC Vegas 118 on June 6th, marking his comeback to the octagon.
The UFC White House event, now officially called UFC Freedom Fights 250, is scheduled to take place on the South Lawn of the White House. Due to strict security protocols, no tickets will be sold to the general public or media. Invitations will instead be extended to members of the military and select VIPs. This setup contributed to Muhammad’s remarks, describing the event as a scheme not intended for fans.
When I picture people who are gonna be there watching, I picture the Hunger Games. They’re not paying attention to what happens in the cage, they’ll see a little bit of a blood, they don’t see a knockouts. They’re not a real fans, so who cares, they get what they get.

UFC CEO Dana White has confirmed that the temporary structure on the South Lawn will accommodate up to 5,000 spectators. However, he also stated that around 85,000 fans will be able to watch from the Ellipse area in a picnic-style setting. Large Jumbotrons will be installed to broadcast the fights to this wider audience. White revealed that access for these 85,000 fans will be provided completely free of cost.
Belal Muhammad is not the only fighter to have criticized aspects of the UFC White House event. Middleweight title challenger Sean Strickland also addressed the event when asked about participating. He revealed that he would decline to fight if the card did not include provisions for fan attendance. This highlights ongoing concerns among fighters regarding accessibility at the June 14th event.
While Dana White has confirmed attendance for the UFC White House event, US President Donald Trump revealed plans for a 100,000-seat stadium on the South Lawn. The idea seems unfeasible with only months left before UFC Freedom Fights 250. The event will continue under the current structure and limits. Belal Muhammad’s comments have drawn attention to concerns over fan access at this historical showcase.
Belal Muhammad reacts to the main event of UFC 326
The UFC 326 main event pitted Charles Oliveira against Max Holloway in a rematch at T‑Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Oliveira won the bout by unanimous decision after five rounds, with all judges scoring the fight in his favor. He controlled much of the contest with takedowns and dominant grappling throughout the scheduled distance. This performance secured ‘Do Bronx’ the BMF title over Holloway.

Many in the MMA community criticized the UFC 326 main event for low action and heavy grappling. The BMF belt has previously been contested in all‑out wars or striking finishes, which added to the criticism. Questions arose about the title’s entertainment value following the grappling-heavy rematch. The low output prompted Belal Muhammad to comment on how Oliveira dominated across all five rounds.
I did tell Charles that you grapple in this match, it is going to be an easy night. Did I expect it to be that easy and simple? No. Did I think that it was a hole in Max Holloway’s game? No, I just think that Charles was on point; he did everything correctly. Charles had his game plan and his mindset: I am going to take this to the ground no matter what.

Belal Muhammad is no stranger to this kind of criticism, having faced scrutiny for fights that go the distance or are seen as low‑action. Many observers have labelled some of his bouts as “boring” despite his consistent winning performances. However, his recent comments emphasized the value of technical skill and strategy over relying solely on knockout power or high‑tension exchanges.
