UFC is very close to finalizing the welterweight bout between UFC veteran Demian Maia and the rising prospect Belal Muhammad for a pay-per-view event on June 2.
This news was confirmed by multiple sources to ESPN on Saturday, according to the source, contracts have not been signed yet but both of them have verbally agreed to the fight.
Maia is 28-10 on his professional record and has not competed since he lost the fight to Gilbert Burns, 43 years old Brazilian has discussed the possibility of retirement in coming years and it looks like he is trying to improve his legacy before hanging his gloves for good.
This fight will take place on UFC 263 at a location yet to be announced.

Belal Muhammad is 18-3 on his professional record and was on a three-fight winning streak before the unfortunate event of his main-event contest with Leon Edwards.
Due to an unintentional eye-poke this contest was declared as no contest and Belal was seriously injured but he recovered quickly and was demanding a rematch with Edwards.
