Belinda Bencic shares her excitement on Roger Federer’s much awaited comeback

Swiss tennis marvel and arguably one of the greatest tennis player of all time, Roger Federer has hit the tennis court once again after a long gap. Federer underwent two surgeries on his right knee in 2020 which kept him away from the court for more than 12 months.
While he underwent the first surgery in February 2020, he announced in June 2020 about having undergone a second surgery as the knee kept swelling after the first surgery.
Having played his last match at the Australian Open 2020, Federer will finally resume playing on Wednesday in Doha where he would be up against Dan Evans.
Tennis fans all across the world are excited and thrilled about the Swiss’ comeback. And so is her countrywoman and friend, Belinda Bencic.
Roger Federer to make a comeback on Belinda Bencic’s birthday

Another Swiss, Belinda Bencic is super excited on Federer’s comeback too. Bencic has been a huge friend and admirer of Federer. She will most likely also be pairing up with Federer for the upcoming Tokyo olympics.
The Swiss pair, though, has experience of competing in the mixed doubles as they won back-to-back Hopman Cup titles in 2018 and 2019.
“Everyone is counting the days. I thought he was going to play today and then I saw the schedule and I was like, ‘Nooo, one more day, we have to wait’. But it’s good because he’s coming back on my birthday, which is really good and I wish him best of luck.”, Bencic said.
On court, Belinda Bencic will be up against Anastasia Potapova in the second round of the Dubai Tennis Championships.
