Belinda Bencic praises Roger Federer’s acting skills believing he will feature in a movie soon

Roger Federer, is well-known for having a captivating demeanor both on and off the court. Many people around the world are fans of him thanks to his abilities and charisma. World No.11 Belinda Bencic recently tweeted her admiration for her compatriot’s acting abilities. Federer and acclaimed comedian Trevor Noah starred in an advertisement a few days ago.
Bencic was so taken with the advertisement that she tweeted about wanting to see Federer in a Hollywood film. She was impressed by Federer’s new-found skills and the conventional Swiss mannerisms. Bencic and Federer have played together a couple of matches together also. The duo has even won the Hopman Cup twice.
On social media, Federer’s advertisement for Switzerland Tourism has received a lot of attention. Federer received a lot of positive feedback from admirers and celebrities. After turning pro in 2012, Bencic has definitely made her mark in the sport. The 26-year-old has eight WTA Tour titles as well as an Olympic gold medal under her belt.
Bencic and Federer share a close relationship. They collaborated to help Switzerland win back-to-back championships in the Hopman Cup in 2018 and 2019. Bencic dedicated her gold medal win at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to him as well. “…I felt that was so much fun and when you’re a Swiss person, you exactly understand the humor behind it,” stated Bencic, in regard to the commercial.
Post her quarter-final match, she spoke to Tennis Channel to express her enthusiasm for the advert. “I feel like he’s an amazing actor. I think soon we’re going to see him in a movie or something,” Bencic said, “I watched the whole video with a big smile on my face.” Bencic might not be too far off as the former World No.1 has already been part of a few acting projects.

In the second round of the 2023 Charleston Open, Belinda Bencic defeated Shelby Rogers after a tough battle. Against the American in the second set, Bencic’s hopes of successfully defending her championship title were on the line, but she came through to finally triumph. During a short break before the third set, Rogers apparently brushed shoulders with the Swiss, according to Bencic.
In the post-match interview, Bencic acknowledged the supposedly ‘hostile’ interaction. However, she did not seem affected. In fact, Bencic joked that Rogers was already engaging in trash talk. The comment comes after Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff asserted that trash talk should make a comeback. Even Bencic is in support of the claim made by the Americans.
