Ben Johnson is still leaving many surprised by how he has steered the lackluster Chicago Bears into a team that has the NFL on its edge, with most not knowing how to deal with them.
The Green Bay Packers felt they knew what they were doing, at least for most of their Wild Card round against their perennial rivals. Then, the game turned on its head with Johnson helping Caleb Williams orchestrate a stunning comeback rally.
After winning the game, the head coach continued to display his ‘coldness’ towards Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, and then went on to use an expletive-laced anti-Packers message to rile up his team during the post-game speech.
There is a rivalry that exists between these two teams, something that I fully recognize and I’m a part of. I don’t like that team. George and I have talked, and we’re on the same page.
Ben Johnson told reporters
This was the first-year head coach’s response when a reporter asked if Bears owner George McCaskey was fine with his anti-Packers’ NFSW rant.

The journalist was trying to figure out if the ownership was in sync when it comes to issuing such a rallying cry, which many do not appreciate, especially since it tends to impact their PR. However, looking at how loud Bears fans were to get the one over their heated rivals finally, it is unlikely that Ben Johnson will stop issuing NSFW rants anytime they play the Packers.
Marcus Spears praises Ben Johnson’s culture-changing impact
As the topic of Ben Johnson‘s anti-Packers words became the sports world’s point of conversation, Marcus Spears addressed the head coach’s impact on his team.

This is one of the best jobs, since I’ve been here at this network, that I’ve seen a coach do with a team and changing the psychology of the team. That’s not just words in the locker room.
Marcus Spears said on NFL Live
The former Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle believes that Johnson’s words are not just some random motivational talks that manage to have a positive effect on his players. Instead, the ESPN analyst believes the Bears’ head coach has managed to change the culture in that locker room. Proof is how they have come back to win quite a few games, something that becomes easier to achieve when a team is bought in on their coach’s vision.

Spears pointed out Caleb Williams’ ability late in games as another example of how Ben Johnson has changed the culture of this team. It takes guts for a young quarterback to have the confidence to rally his team to a win. Spears believes that comes from his head coach.
Cam Newton believes Ben Johnson is the reason Caleb Williams is playing lights out
In his rookie season, Caleb Williams looked lost, and many wondered if he was not the prospect many scouts thought him to be. Now, Cam Newton believes Ben Johnson is the reason for his resurgence.
It is a testament to Ben Johnson’s ability to extract the best version of his QBs. We’ve seen this with Jared Goff. We are now seeing this in Caleb Williams.

The former league MVP went on to detail how it takes a lot for a quarterback to unlock that extra step, especially this early in one’s career. For him to maximize his skills, both with his hands and his feet, was due to the confidence his head coach gave him.

Next, the Chicago Bears will face the Los Angeles Rams. In the clash between two offensive geniuses, it will be up to Ben Johnson to bring out his creativity if his team is to advance.
