Notably, it was Simmons’ contacts list that caught the NBA community’s attention via the Nets’ social media activity. Recently, the Nets social media team questioned its players asking, “Who is the most famous person in your phone?” to which the Nets stars gave their replies. Simmons’ answer was quite intriguing.

It’s not usual to have the former U.S. president’s number on one’s phone. However, Simmons’ dad had a connection with Barack Obama in the past. Simmons once even got the opportunity to meet Obama back in 2016 at a political rally.

Not only that, but Obama also gave Simmons a special shoutout just before the June 2017 NBA Draft, calling him a ‘special player.’

To the joy of the fans, Ben Simmons was present and delivered a message during the Brooklyn Nets’ media day in New York. The three-time NBA All-Star spoke with YES Network for seven minutes about his “recovery.”

According to Simmons, he “is excited” about the impending NBA season. After missing most of the previous season due to injury, Simmons stated that he is ‘ready to go’ for the new season.
