The fourth T20I between India and England ended yesterday with the hosts coming up with a strong all-round performance to level the series and take the game to the decider. After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, India seemed to lose the plot in the beginning before excellent knocks from Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer took them to a good total of 185 which turned out to be above-par.

England suffered early jitters before looking to be on course to seal victory with Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow at the crease. However, the latter was removed by Rahul Chahar before the former as well as Eoin Morgan were removed off successive balls by Shardul Thakur to turn the tie in India’s favor. There were some nervy moments towards the end when Jofra Archer threatened to take the game down to the wire, but India sealed victory by 8 runs.

Ben Stokes was going strong on 46 off just 22 balls when he decided to take on a delivery outside off-stump from Shardul Thakur. He could only hit the ball straight to the long-off fielder Suryakumar Yadav who held the catch. The wicket was a huge moment and the turning point in the game. Ben Stokes knew it as well, as he seemed livid with himself and was seen venting his anger by screaming.

While it remains unclear as to what Stokes shouted, some Indian fans have guessed from his lip movements that he could have been saying an Indian cuss word that rhymes with ‘Ben Stokes’. The moment has now gone viral on social media.

The fifth and final T20I will take place tomorrow.
