Ben White to Liverpool rumours gets more steam as Liverpool left with no senior centre-backs
Ben White to Liverpool might just happen according to Kevin Palmer as Liverpool are going to look for a centre-back in January

Ben White to Liverpool seems to get more and more firm as Liverpool have no senior centre-backs left. Joel Matip was subbed off at half-time in the Fulham match for back spasms. Relying on him for an entire season is not the most viable option for the club as he is injury prone. A young centre-back who can be mentored to gain more experience and eventually partner Virgil Van Dijk.

Asking price could be a turn off

Brighton manager Graham Potter uses a three man defence with all three of his defenders being tall. Just like Wolves, they possess a threat in the air and are fast in their sprint too. Ben White has been singled out of the Brighton defence because of his height and physique which is also backed up by his pace. However his asking price is upwards of €40 million as every average English player who has a couple of good games are priced like this. Jack Grealish has been set a price of €80 million while Kalvin Phillips has a price of €80 million too.

However Liverpool might see value in this investment as Ben White could be long term investment. Just 23 years of age, he has prime years ahead of him just like Diogo Jota and could be mentored by Virgil Van Dijk. He would gain valuable experience and parter Joe Gomez in central defence when the time comes for Virgil Van Dijk to hang up his boots. Frankly nothing can go wrong with this transfer as Liverpool have a great defender for a young defender who can be moulded to suit them.
