Things got heated between the Los Angeles Angels and the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night after Mike Trout got hit by a pitch. He was the 4th player to be hit, which led to the benches being cleared at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
Earlier in the game, Zach Neto was hit by a pitch in the 1st inning by Patrick Corbin. In the 7th inning, Luis Rengifo got hit by Caleb Boushley. The Angels also hit a batter in Sam Haggerty in the 5th inning by Yusei Kikuchi.
Neto was once again hit in the 8th inning. With Gustavo Campero on third and one out, Neto was hit by a 2-2 pitch from Shawn Armstrong. Just two pitches later, Mike Trout would get drilled by a 92mph fastball on his hand.
Angels interim manager Ray Montgomery would come out to the dugout to check on Trout. He would also hurl some towards the pitcher.
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy would throw in some words from the dugout before heading towards his counterpart. Soon, the benches would clear as the two sets of players and coaches argued over the incident. Check out the video regarding this incident below:

Luckily, no punches were thrown, and the situation would diffuse within moments. After the game, Montgomery expressed that he did not accuse any Rangers pitcher of intentionally hitting his players.
You hit our second baseman, our shortstop (twice) and then Mike (Trout). The only thing I said was, ‘How many times are you going to hit a guy. I wasn’t insinuating that they were intentionally doing it, by any means.
Ray Montgomery told the reporters
Ray Montgomery: "Four hit-by-pitches. You hit our 2B, our SS, and then Mike. The only thing I said is, 'how many times are you gonna hit a guy?' I wasn’t insinuating that they were intentionally doing it by any means."

Mike Trout recently celebrated huge MLB milestone
The 2025 season has been a productive one for Mike Trout. Despite missing a few games through injury, the Los Angeles Angels superstar has remained as one of the top performers for his team. Recently, he celebrated a huge MLB milestone.

In the series finale against the Seattle Mariners, Trout smashed a 2-run bomb which helped his side to a 4-1 win. This two-run home run saw him cross the 1,000 RBI mark.
Before the home run, Trout was sitting on 999 RBIs and needed one more to join an exclusive club. He would drive in his 1,000th and 1,001st run through a 2-run shot. He became just the 3rd Angels star to cross his massive mark.

Mike Trout inching closer to another milestone moment
On Sunday, Mike Trout became the latest member of the 1,000 RBIs club in MLB. He crossed this mark with a 2-run home run off Mariners pitcher Logan Gilbert in the fifth inning. While he has now accomplished this feat, he is inching closer to another milestone moment.

That home run against the Mariners was his 397th homer of his career. He is now just 3 home runs away from crossing the 400 home run mark. He will become the 59th player in MLB history to hit 400 or more home runs once he accomplishes this feat.
