UFC lightweight contender Beneil Dariush is all set and ready to take on former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson. Dariush is very aware of all the antics and drama El Cucuy brings and he says he won’t shy away from it.
Beneil Dariush is scheduled to take on Tony Ferguson at UFC 262 in a lightweight bout. Both the fighters are looking to get a title shot. Beneil recently made an appearance on ESPN MMA ahead of his fight against El Cucuy. The fighter spoke about his mentality going into the fight against a fighter like Ferguson.
In the interview, Dariush spoke about facing Tony Ferguson at UFC 262. “If [Tony Ferguson] tries to get crazy, I’ll get crazier. If he tries to grapple, I’ll grapple better. If he tries to strike, well, I’m here. If he tries to spin, I’ll spin more,” said Beneil Dariush. The Iranian fighter believes that you have to think differently fighting someone like Tony.

Ali Abdelaziz, Beneil Dariush’s manager has never gotten along well with El Cucuy. From an excerpt of his fighter’s interview, he posted on Twitter trashing Tony Ferguson suggested that he was finished. “Tony Ferguson is a dead man walking, Beneil Dariush just being nice about it,” wrote Ali on his Twitter. This is not the first time Ali and Tony have clashed.
Beneil Dariush is coming off a five-fight consecutive winning streak and has not lost a bout since 2018. The fighter is in amazing form and has a record of 20-4-1 having lost only 4 fights in his career. Meanwhile, Tony Ferguson is coming off a loss against Charles Oliveira last year at UFC 256.
