After a late-minute loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, it seems Cincinnati Bengals’ Daijahn Anthony is planning to exact revenge on them by keeping Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes on his lock screen for motivation. Well, this season is one for the ages.
The Bengals played the Chiefs in Week 2, looking for their first win of the season. The Bengals had a grip on the game until Harrison Butker sent the ball flying into the goalpost for a 51-yard FG as the clock struck out.
The safety’s one of the first snaps in the league didn’t go as he thought it would. Anthony was flagged down for defensive pass interference when covering Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice on a 4th-and-16 play on Kansas City’s final offensive drive of the game. The penalty eventually led to the field goal, which declared the game in favor of the Chiefs.
I honestly can’t wait to see them. I’ve got as one of my lock screens right now so I can see it every day… because I can’t wait to see them again.Daijahn Anthony said reporters on Thursday

Anthony has a revolving set of images on his lock screen, including his family and now the Chiefs’ duo. The safety, drafted 224th overall by the Bengals, has previously done a similar tactic ahead of the 2023 Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl 2023.
He screen grabbed his opponents Penn State Nittany Lions speaking on the internet and added to his lock screen. Anthony mentioned that this was to remind himself what he was playing for.
Earlier this season, Lamar Jackson failed to avenge his team for the 2023 AFC Championship game loss and lost. It would be extremely amazing to see if Anthony and the Bengals can do it, if they reach the playoffs.
Can Bengals comeback from the dismal start?
The Bengals have found themselves once again in a similar situation to last two seasons. They are starting 0-2 heading to Week 3, with a dire need for some solace. They are playing Washington Commanders who are fresh off a field goal win over the New York Giants.
The AFC North is turning out to be an exciting division. The Ravens, who boast the defending MVP, are also 0-2 after losses to Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders. They have a tough opponent heading into this week as well – Dallas Cowboys.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are also facing a tough match up with LA Chargers while the Cleveland Brown plays the Giants. The Bengals might not be able to break into the top two but could potentially find themselves in the third spot. They are also facing some good news as Tee Higgins have rejoined the practice yesterday.
The Bengals are yet to play any of the division rivals. If they find back their chemistry, Joe Burrow and his squad has no reason to worry. Furthermore, the last time a team ran to postseason after 0-2 start was by Bengals when they went all the way to the Super Bowl. It’s not an impossibility, as the Bengals could ideally iron out and play the Chiefs in the postseason.
