Bengaluru FC have confirmed the signing of versatile Indian midfielder Jayesh Rane on a three-year deal, running till the end of the 2023-24 season.

Rane is the Blues’ sixth signing of this summer as he joins Marco Pezzaiuoli’s side ahead of their AFC Cup Playoff Clash against Eagles FC.

Rane is a product of the Mumbai FC academy and has 85 caps in the Indian Super League, and will be greatly strengthening the Blues’ options in attacking half.

The 28-year old joins Bengaluru after a four-season stint with ATK Mohun Bagan(formerly ATK), and was previously a pivotal part of the Chennaiyin FC side that clinched the Indian Super League title back in 2015-16.

Rane is primarily a midfielder, but can also operate down the flanks, adding to his dynamism and has won the Indian Super League a second time with ATK.

Rane was also an integral part of the Aizawl squad that clinched the I-League trophy back in 2017. Rane has also represented India at the U-23 level and has the experience of playing in the AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers.

“I’m really happy to join Bengaluru FC, a club that has known success for several years and one that represents a high level of professionalism on and off the pitch.” said Rane who joined Bengaluru FC‘s training base in Bellary as they prepare for the AFC Cup playoffs.

“At this stage of my career, I felt ready for a fresh challenge and Bengaluru FC gave me that opportunity. I have come up against this team throughout my career, and now I am looking forward to representing the club and to play my part in all its future success.” Rane added on accepting a new challenge in his Career.

“Jayesh is a player who can play in different positions and his versatility gives the team a lot of options in attack. He is creative and skillful, has an eye for goal and also brings with him the experience of having been part of three League title-winning teams.” Blues’ head coach Marco Pezzaiuoli spoke of Rane’s versatility.

“Off the pitch, he is a positive person and has fit right in with the rest of the squad already. I welcome him to Bengaluru FC and look forward to working with him.” Pezzaiuoli added, as he looks forward to work with Rane in Bengaluru colours.

Bengaluru FC will be facing Club Eagles FC in their AFC Cup Playoff Clash in Maldives on August 15th.
