Oleksandr Zinchenko detailed the early struggles of being a footballer from where he hails
Oleksandr Zinchenko recently highlighted what he had to go through to become the star that he is today. In an interview with The Guardian, he said that the challenges to becoming a footballer from where he came were too overwhelming. Zinchenko stated that there weren’t any facilities whatsoever, and they could only have two practices in a week to play a game. However, it was his mom who saw the fire in his eyes and eventually decided to push him for the bigger leagues.
As per Zinchenko, City tracked him in a Youth Champions League game between Shakhtar and Arsenal. He was initially given an academy player’s contract and was promised that as soon as he made his debut for City as a professional player, he would get the usual contract that a senior player does and all the perks that come along. Zinchenko didn’t negotiate much and was happy to be a part of the offer that came knocking at his doorstep.
