Mobile gaming has come a long way. Earlier, mobile games used to be seen as simply a casual experience with terrible graphics and ad-ridden gameplay. However, there has been a phenomenal transformation of graphics and gameplay over time. We are seeing more and more AAA titles being released for mobile devices, such as Fortnite, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, etc.

Game developers and publishers are also trying to keep up with the growing trend of Mobile Gaming. It is rumored that this was the reason Activision Blizzard purchased the mobile gaming giant King. While many gamers still do not consider mobile gamers as “gamers“, this perception is soon changing. Here are the top 10 mobile games launching in 2023 & early 2024.

What games will be coming out in 2023?

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile

This list would be incomplete without mentioning the Call of Duty franchise. Call of Duty Mobile was released way back in 2019 and has been quite popular since then. The game has been giving stiff competition to PUBG Mobile, the king of mobile Battle Royale games. Following the immense success of Call of Duty Mobile, Activision is set to release Call of Duty Warzone Mobile in 2024.

Up to 120 players can participate in a single game of Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile on Verdansk, back by popular demand. The game attempts to maintain the basic structure of the original battle royale experience while bringing it to mobile. Gamers can also anticipate new in-game social capabilities to interact with other players online.

Rainbow Six: Mobile

Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege is a famous 5v5 tactical FPS game for PC. With Rainbow Six: Mobile, Ubisoft aims to bring this experience to mobile devices. The Rainbow Six franchise has declined in popularity over the last few years. The publishers will look to change that with a mobile version of the franchise. The game recreates Siege’s destruction system, allowing players to blow up buildings with explosives or pierce walls with bullets.

The game’s surroundings use a tiered material system wherein environmental items made of various materials respond to player attacks in multiple ways. For example, bullets deliver less damage when they strike enemies via walls and other obstacles thanks to a bullet penetration system. As a result, the landscape on the battlefield is constantly changing, necessitating the need for players to be aware of their surroundings and cooperate. The game is set to be released before the end of 2023.

Valorant Mobile

In 2021, Riot Games announced they would bring their popular game, Valorant, to mobile. Since Valorant is currently available only on PC, a mobile distribution would allow people without gaming computers to finally try it out. The 5v5 hero shooter allows you to pick from various Agents with differing abilities. This makes each game feel fresh, as you can run numerous amounts of Agent compositions. This gives it a competitive advantage over similar 5v5 tactical shooters.

Fans can expect Riot Games to add strict Anti-cheat measures in the mobile version, too. In the Esports Game of the Year 2022, Valorant can see massive attention from the player base for its mobile version. The game has been delayed quite a few times and is slated to be released in 2024.

Assassin’s Creed: Codename Jade

Assassin’s Creed is the spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, one of the most popular gaming franchises. The series has seen a resurgence since Assassin’s Creed Origins and continues to be more popular than ever. Ubisoft is bringing a new Assassin’s Creed title to mobile, which will take place in Ancient China. It will include character creation and open-world gameplay.

The game started its first closed beta testing on iOS and Android on August 3, 2023. The tests ran for over a week and shut down on August 11th. After working on the feedback received during the open beta, Ubisoft is expected to release the full game in early 2024.

Mortal Kombat Onslaught, the next Mortal Kombat mobile game, aims to improve upon this. In this game, players must assemble a dream team of fighters to fight the threat. Warcraft Rumble

If you’re familiar with the gameplay of Clash Royale, you’ll be right at home with Warcraft Rumble. The game involves gathering, assembling, and enhancing an army of Warcraft Minis for tactical tower defense gameplay.

While there is no competitive play and a major emphasis on single-player content, you will face difficulties as you go through the stages that will test your intelligence and the might of your army. The game is set to be released on November 3, 2023.

Warframe Mobile

With more than 50 million registered members for the third-person multiplayer shooter Warframe, the title has maintained a loyal fandom since its first release in 2013. Unsurprisingly, the free-to-play game would have a mobile edition since so many gamers are still playing it years after it was first released. The game has hit over 150k concurrent players on Steam, and the mobile version is only expected to take this to further heights.

The game’s mobile version has only been announced for iOS, with an Android version yet to be announced. It is safe to say that we will see an Android version as we get closer to the game’s expected release in 2024.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence

The story aspect of the game will be independent of these two. Ubisoft is set to release this game in early 2024.
