Best Transfer: Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt to Manchester City)
Bundesliga talent Omar Marmoush made a spectacular €75 million transfer move out of Eintracht Frankfurt to EPL giants Manchester City. The Egyptian forward, having scored 20 goals and provided 13 assists for Frankfurt, is a great addition to City’s lineup, complementing Erling Haaland.
Worst Transfer: Joao Felix (Chelsea to AC Milan)
Just six months after having been signed permanently by Chelsea, the 25-year-old forward is on the move once again. Despite scoring seven goals in just nine starts for the Blues, Joao Felix has now joined AC Milan on a six-month-long loan deal until the end of the season.
Bundesliga
Bundesliga clubs weren’t too active in the January transfer window this time, with top clubs like Bayern Munich and Dortmund remaining quiet. RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Hoffenheim were the highest spenders.
Best Transfer: Xavi Simons (PSG to RB Leipzig)
Attacking midfielder Xavi Simons joined RB Leipzig permanently on a €50 million deal from PSG after spending 18 months on loan at the German side. A talented playmaker, Simons has played 61 matches for Leipzig, recording 34 goal contributions.
Worst Transfer: Andre Silva (RB Leipzig to Werder Bremen)
Once viewed as Portugal’s future number nine, Andre Silva has seen his stakes drop at RB Leipzig. He joined fellow Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on loan in hopes of turning around his form and returning to the goal-scoring charts.
La Liga
Similar to the German league clubs, La Liga clubs have also kept themselves out of the January transfer window. Giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have not made any new signings. Real Betis remains the highest spender.
Best Transfer: Arthur (Juventus to Girona)
Brazilian midfielder Arthur joined Girona on a six-month long loan deal. The 28-year-old comes off the back of a decent season with Fiorentina. However, it remains to be seen how well he performs, keeping in mind he has remained out of action for the last six months.
Worst Transfer: Antony (Manchester United to Real Betis)
Antony‘s transfer to Real Betis might not be the worst one. He joins from Manchester United on a six-month long loan deal. The 24-year-old joins after a dismal three-season stint with the Red Devils, where he scored just 12 times in 96 appearances.
Ligue 1
Two Ligue 1 clubs have been the highest spenders this January transfer window, much ahead of the others. PSG and Rennes have remained active, while Marseille, Monaco, and Reims have also signed new players.

An elite defender in his prime, Milan Skriniar‘s decision to join PSG from Inter Milan has not gone well. The 29-year-old center-back, after losing his place to William Pacho, has joined Fenerbahce. He is set to remain in the Turkish capital until the end of the season.
Serie A
Most of the Serie A clubs have spent huge during the January transfer window, with Como, AC Milan, Juventus being the highest spenders. Cesc Faberegas managed-Como made eight new additions to their side.
Best Transfer: Santiago Gimezez (Feyenoord to AC Milan)
Once a Liverpool transfer target, Mexican center-forward Santiago Gimenez joined AC Milan, for a surprisingly low transfer fee of €30 million. He replaces veteran Alvaro Morata, who most recently decided to join Galatasaray.
Worst Transfer: Lloyd Kelly (Newcastle United to Juventus)
After failing to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona, Juventus instead opted to bring in Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle United. The 26-year-old might, however, not be among the Old Lady’s first-choice players.
