Indian star batter, Virat Kohli, is facing a tough time with the bat for his lackluster batting performance in Test cricket. After scoring a hundred in the second innings of the first Test match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25, he failed with the bat in the second Test match, which was a pink ball Test. Kohli scored 7 and 11 in the two innings of the Test match.

Before the century in Perth, Kohli had just two tons in Test cricket in the last five years. He failed to score in the three-match Test series at home against New Zealand in which India was whitewashed 3-0. Now, with his failure in the Adelaide Test, criticism has resurfaced regarding the form of the former Indian captain in the longest format of the game.

Kohli will be looking to make a strong comeback in the third Test match at the Gabba in Brisbane. It is the only stadium in Australia where the former Indian captain has not scored a century in his illustrious career.

If he does score a century in Brisbane, Kohli will join an elite list with Alastair Cook and Sunil Gavaskar to become the third visiting batter with centuries in all Test-playing cricket stadiums in Australia. Kohli already has centuries in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide.

India will be looking to take a 2-1 lead in the BGT 2024/25

Team India registered a historic win by 295 runs in the first Test at the Optus Stadium but suffered a 10-wicket defeat at the Adelaide Oval. The Gabba presents yet another tough challenge for Rohit Sharma‘s team, given that it is one of the fastest and bounciest wickets in the world. Australians have held a major advantage on this wicket, given that they did not lose a single Test match at the venue between 1988 and 2021.

Team India breached the fortress in the final match of the BGT 2020-21 to win the series. However, this time around, Australia is playing at the Gabba at the start of the summer, and hence, it is going to be a fresh wicket for the fixture.

Virat Kohli will look to be back among the runs to lead the batting lineup to a dominant score. The batting lineup has struggled in both Tests, barring the second innings of the first match. It’s everything to look forward to on December 14.
