It was a night of dilemma for Jason Kelce, having his little brother’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against the Philadelphia Eagles, with whom he spent his entire NFL career, at the Super Bowl. And as the latter won the trophy, his emotions ran high but he still managed to post a heartfelt congratulatory post for his former team.

But little did Jason know: even a simple social media post from him would become a source of speculation, covering all the headlines. The reason was that the post was shared by Jason’s New Heights podcast social media, which he hosts with his brother and the Chiefs’ star tight end Travis Kelce

Shortly after, the post from the New Heights account, congratulating the Eagles for the victory over the Chiefs and earning the Super Bowl trophy was deleted which sparked even more questions and speculations among the fans. In another tweet, the ESPN analyst broke his silence on the whole situation, revealing he asked for the post to be taken down because it featured too many pictures of himself instead of those who actually won the Eagles’ second Vince Lombardi Trophy

I had Jake take that graphic down because that post had too many pictures of me. I wanted the post to be reflective of the guys who just won, not me. I didn’t win shit in this one, it felt weird to congratulate this team with a bunch of pictures of me.

When the post was abruptly deleted, the Eagles fans accused the Swifties of bullying the account into removing the post. But the future Hall of Fame center’s explanation sits well as the post featured a collage of several pictures of Jason from his time playing for Philly.

Jason Kelce balances Eagles victory with support for brother Travis Kelce

While Jason was overwhelmed by his former team’s victory, he was incredibly considerate towards his brother’s emotions. The night was a tough one for the Chiefs, especially when they remained scoreless through the first nine drives and gave the Eagles a whopping 22-0 lead at half-time.

As for my brother, there isn’t a person I love or care about more. It has been tough to process these feelings, of course, I feel for him and am always rooting for him, but I know he does not need, nor want my pity.

He empathized with Travis and the Chiefs, acknowledging that it would take the franchise some time to move from this defeat. But at the end of the day, they know that this doesn’t define them and soon exhibit the sheer dominance they did in the regular season.
