Big ‘Barcelona FC’ fan Andrey Rublev visits Camp Nou Stadium

Andrey Rublev has carried the same form from the 2020 season. He had a breakthrough 2020 season where he broke into the Top 10 of the world. And this season, he has performed even better. He has reached atleast the quarter-finals of every tournament he has played so far and has won two of them- the ATP Cup and the ATP 500 event at Rotterdam.

So far in the Clay season, Rublev has played the Monte Carlo Masters and the Barcelona Open. He shocked World No.2 Rafael Nadal at the Principality in the quarter-finals and reached the final where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas.

In Barcelona, Rublev came in as the third seed and was looking good in the initial rounds. He defeated Federico Gaio and Albert Ramos Vinolas in the initial two rounds before losing to Italian teen Jannik Sinner in the quarter-final.

Like any people around the world, Rublev is also a big ‘Barcelona FC’ fan. After his exit from the Barcelona Open, he paid a visit to the historic Camp Nou Stadium. Although there was no football for Rublev to see, he did click some pictures in FC Barcelona’s home stadium.

He told the Club’s official media that he knows Gerard Pique and that he watches Barca whenever he can, most recently in the victory in the Copa del Rey final. He also met president Joan Laporta and marked the occasion with a photo.
