Former WWE Champion Big E has been absent from WWE since the March 11, 2022, episode of SmackDown. He broke his neck after a belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland. The New Day member suffered fractures in the C1 and C6 vertebrae but thankfully didn’t have any ligament or spinal cord damage.

During a recent conversation with Chris Vanini on Getting Over, Big E gave an update regarding his neck situation. He stated that, thankfully, he hadn’t felt any pain, discomfort, or weakness in the two years since he broke his neck. The former WWE Champion also talked about the ongoing issue with his C1 bone, saying it was healing fibrously. Although he mentioned that it was good for normal day-to-day activities, it still wasn’t enough for him to return.

Now we're at two years and running since I broke my neck. I broke my C1 in two places, my C6 as well. I feel great. I have no issues with pain, no issues with discomfort, weakness, any of those things. We'll see if that changes anything. Right now, I feel great, I'm just not in a position to be cleared quite yet.

Big E revealed he went to Cancun for stem cell recovery about a month ago. He wasn’t the only one who went there. MVP also went there for treatment and posted about it on social media a few months ago. Speaking about his WWE run, Big E was at his peak when he cashed in his MITB contract on Bobby Lashley and became world champion for the first time. He was recently seen at the pre-show of the Money in the Bank PLE.

The 38-year-old star admitted that it was a very important bone, and its healing is a must for him to return. He said that until it’s fully healed, he couldn’t think about making an in-ring comeback. Although the New Day member said that he was feeling great, he was still not in a position to be cleared quite yet. Fans are clamoring for his comeback and reunion with his fellow members, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston.

Big E Admits The New Day Is At A Crossroads In WWE

The New Day has become one of the most decorated tag teams in history since its formation. However, they haven’t been all together since Big E was forced out due to an injury. Now, Karrion Kross of The Final Testament is trying to divide Woods and Kofi and has even offered them a place in his group. Big E talked about the current situation of the faction.

Speaking on the same podcast, the 38-year-old star stated that the three had become like a family after being together for so many years. He admitted that they were confused about what they wanted to do after accomplishing everything in their respective careers.

Yeah, you know, obviously those are my brothers for life. Kofi [Kingston] being World Champion, I got an opportunity to be World Champion, and [Xavier] Woods is King of the Ring. After the run in the NXT, I feel like now, where do we fit here? I feel like it’s a bit of a crossroads for them figuring out what they want to do.

On the July 1 episode of Raw, Woods defeated his rival Kross, but he took revenge by breaking Kofi’s arm. The former King of the Ring announced on social media that his partner would be out of action. Thankfully for him, Maxxine Dupri, Akira Tozawa, and Otis agreed to help him against The Final Testament.
