Ever since his highly unfortunate injury a few years ago, Big E has been unable to step into the squared circle. However, he has used this time to not only do a lot of media appearances for the company but also venture into the entertainment industry. The 38-year-old was recently announced to be a part of “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”, where he voices the character of Bulldozer.

Appearing on X-Pod 97, Big E expressed how grateful and fortunate he felt for this opportunity. He said that initial talks started for this project when he was still in a neck brace. Back then, he didn’t even have agents helping him out or a proper way to contact him. If someone wanted to get in touch with him, their best bet was shooting him a DM. Thus, a casting director sent him a message, and he was so thankful that he didn’t miss it.

The former WWE Champion showered tons of praise on showrunner Jeff Trammell. The two had become great friends over the course of their working relationship, and the latter was even a huge wrestler who already knew about the former Mr. Money in the Bank.

I’m so thankful that I didn’t miss it. I look at the casting director, saw her name, and it looked legit. I reached back out to her and we started talking and went from there. Really, it’s because of Jeff. I have to give all the credit to Jeff, who I’ve gotten to know and he has become great friends with me.

Jeff Trammell had reached out to Big E for the reading of a part that was only supposed to be one episode. However, the team at Marvel liked it so much that they gave him a more significant role instead. He further stated that being part of such a project was a dream come true. He was so delighted to be working on it that he often asked the team to read another script even after he was done for the day.

Big E reflects on being betrayed by The New Day

On the December 2nd, 2024 episode of Raw, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston shocked the world by turning on their long-time friend, Big E. He was only trying to offer his services as a manager. However, his stablemates were offended by the fact that he was not there for them for so long. During the same interview, the 38-year-old talked about this betrayal that he had to face.

Big E said that the wrestling industry needs one to constantly evolve. When The New Day was newly formed, the three of them were only trying to save their careers. However, he was proud of what they ended up building as a collective. Now, for better or for worse, the wrestling world was once again talking about Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

It’s funny because before that segment, it was positivity and, ‘I’m happy for you. I hope you get better.’ Now, I have so many pro-Kofi and Woods trolls every time I post about Spider-Man or the Fiesta Bowl. ‘Kofi and Woods were right. You be everywhere but the ring.’

Regardless of what happened, Big E was proud of what he had built alongside them. Furthermore, he was proud of where he currently stood in life. One could talk about all the incredible championship reigns and records that The New Day broke. However, to him, wrestling was about delivering moments to the audience.
