Bijan Robinson has quickly established himself as one of the best running backs in the NFL. But if anyone asks his head coach at the Atlanta Falcons, Raheem Morris, he will say that Robinson is “the best” player in the league.
It’s a bold take even for someone like Morris, who loves rewarding his players with high praise after every game. Robinson undoubtedly deserves all the praise in the world, despite his uncharismatic outburst following the Falcons’ midweek win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Robinson capped off the Bucs game with 175 all-purpose yards and 2 touchdowns. With that, his 2025 tally improved to 1800+ scrimmage yards (most in the league) and 8 total touchdowns.
He’s the best player in the NFL.
Raheem Morris told the reporters during the post-game presser
Judging by his remarks, Morris might benefit from having 53 Robinsons on the Falcons roster. Since that is clearly unrealistic, he acknowledged that his team lacks the world-class firepower needed for postseason success, particularly at the quarterback position. Michael Penix Jr. remains a developing talent, while Kirk Cousins alternates between throwing three touchdowns one week and three interceptions the next.
On the other hand, the Falcons’ defense is among the best in the league. The pass rush has flourished under Jeff Ulbrich‘s tutelage. However, they struggle against a good passing offense (conceded the fourth most TDs through the air with 23 and also averaged the 12th most points with 24.4).
All of that has culminated in the Falcons’ 5-9 season with three games left on the schedule. They are third in the NFC South behind the 7-6 Carolina Panthers and the 7-7 Buccaneers. As things stand, Morris’ Falcons can no longer qualify for the playoffs (2017 was the last time the Falcons played postseason football).

Morris expressed disappointment that football fans will once again be deprived of seeing Bijan Robinson attacking NFL defenses in the playoffs.
Sorry, you guys won’t get a chance to watch him in the postseason. He’s carrying everybody’s livelihood on his back.

What did Bijan Robinson say after the Falcons defeated the Buccaneers?
Robinson found himself in a spot of bother for what he said at the Amazon Prime booth on Thursday. Richard Sherman asked Robinson about his ability to make defenders miss, adding that he could tell Robinson “grew up in the backyard.”

In reply, Robinson described his training as “smear the queer.” Sherman’s colleague, Ryan Fitzpatrick, quickly interjected another common name for the game, “kill the carrier.” Clearly, Fitzpatrick picked up on the cue and offered the name to phase out Robinson’s apparent homophobic remark.

Robinson realized his mistake and posted an apology message on X.
Hey everyone, I want to apologize for the insensitive comment I made in the broadcast, it was a football game we used to play as a kid but that’s not an excuse. I recognize the mistake and make sure to do better in the future. It was not reflective of my beliefs and I am so sorry to those I offended seriously!

Despite the apology, Robinson could be penalized for his remarks. The NFL strictly discourages dissent or any kind of offensive language that violates its policy.
Regardless, Robinson is among the best running backs in football. Since his debut in 2023, Robinson has piled up 3,606 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground, while also hauling in 183 catches for 1,602 yards and 7 receiving scores over 48 games.
