“Fu*k your 50-0, sh*t don’t mean nothing,” Bill Haney RIPS Floyd Mayweather trying to weather the storm over sparring stories after son’s defeat

John Fury and Bill Haney represent a class of fathers who’d tumble down hills for their sons. This past weekend, Haney Sr. saw his son Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney lose his undefeated streak. Moreover, Ryan Garcia brutally delivered knockdowns in the 7th, 10th, and 11th rounds of their DAZN Exclusive frame. However, he has opted for Floyd Mayweather to blame rather than Garcia.

Garcia and his newfound friendship with Mayweather had the duo going on a 3 AM run in Las Vegas and attending NBA games. Most importantly, it had a positive impact. Unlike Golden Boy Promotions‘ Oscar De La Hoya, the activities of Garcia and Mayweather did not bother Haney. Prior to the April 20 DAZN bout, Bill Haney advocated that a sparring session with his son forced the 50-0 legend into retirement. ‘Money’ said that, unlike him, Devin Haney does not maintain the “0” anymore, much to the dismay of Haney Sr.

You’re a bullsh*t-ass nig*a... Fu*k your 50-0, that sh*t don’t mean nothing...Look at the opponents you picked, it means nothing...

Floyd Mayweather resounded on being “undefeated under the lights.” This set off a verbal tirade between the two. Furthermore, Ryan Garcia had preemptively leaked sparring footage where Gervonta Davis dominated Haney. Many believe it was Floyd Mayweather who gave the footage to Garcia and so does Bill Haney. Furthermore, Garcia destroyed Devin Haney in their first professional boxing bout.

Hence, the famous father infamously put the blame on Mayweather. The veteran’s mentorship role and indulgence in top staples are widely famous. These include Garcia, Davis, Haney, and even Rolly Romero. Their vices, hence, often get the label of the “Mayweather effect.” While Haney Sr. wants nothing to do with him, Mayweather is ready to call a truce.

Floyd Mayweather respectfully chooses not to go to war with Bill Haney

Barclays Center, NY, saw Ryan Garcia achieve the impossible. A clear underdog for his fight, Garcia knocked down Devin Haney thrice, all the way to a majority decision win. The DAZN Exclusive 12-round boxing bout sees him go 2-0 after back-to-back victories. Meanwhile, Haney is now at 31-1, 15 KOs.

The defeat comes doubly hard for his father, Bill Haney, his cornerman and coach. Boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather recently criticized the expanded role Bill has over Devin’s corner. As such, it did not sit well with the father. Haney Sr. went into verbal warfare over this, mentioning that he did not need any help from him. However, ‘Money’ still extends an olive branch.

Bill, Bill, Bill. I don't have to have a pis*ing contest with you... You know why? Bill you know I have always had respect for you. I just called to find out what your problem is with me...You need some help? He [Devin] needed help the other night [fight night]...

Haney holds on to the WBC world super lightweight strap for now. With Garcia coming over the limit (143.2 lbs), he paid a mandatory bracket of $1.5 million. While he does not inherit the title strap, ‘The Dream’ is keen on rectifying his loss. As such, Mayweather is willing to help him. However, Devin’s father has ardently snubbed the idea. Only time will tell if the beef ever settles between Bill Haney and Floyd Mayweather.
