Jake Cuban, son of Mark Cuban shattered after Luka Doncic trade

The people most affected by the trade that saw Luka Doncic move to the Los Angeles Lakers are Dallas Mavericks fans. Minority owner Mark Cuban was the one who brought the Slovenian superstar to the franchise with the hopes that he would be their cornerstone for his entire career.

However, at the time he was the sole owner of the Dallas Mavericks, and all moves were ratified by him. Now, the situation is different as he is now the minority owner after selling most of his stake to Patrick Dumont and the Adelson family.

Therefore, the trade must have had their blessings as they look to win now. They want to change the fortunes of the franchise and want to be known as NBA title winning owners. On the flip side, Cuban’s son Jake was as invested as his father on the 25-year-old five-time All-NBA superstar. After the trade, he shared a clip of his younger self donning a Doncic No. 77 jersey on his IG.

He also reposted the clip where Mavericks fans placed a coffin near American Airlines Center with a teary-eyed emoticon. Jake Cuban then reposted Luka Doncic’s final message to the Dallas Mavericks which he shared on his own social accounts.

Mark Cuban ‘confused’ after Luka Doncic trade

Just like Jake Cuban, his father Mark Cuban has sent out small reactions to the trade. Former Mavericks star Chandler Parsons reached out trying to gauge how his former boss felt. He revealed his interaction with his former boss on Run it Back.

I texted him, and I said, ‘I’m so confused.’ He wrote back, ‘That makes two of us’.

Parsons added that since the Dallas Mavericks are being run by the Adelson family, Mark Cuban won’t be able to influence decisions. Therefore, he was disappointed and confused that his protege was shipped out for not much in return.

The tech billionaire famously spent a lot of money sending scouts to Europe to get all the details possible about the then young prodigy. Then on draft night, he and his team executed a trade with the Atlanta Hawks to land the Slovenian teenager.

Now, Luka Doncic won’t win an NBA title for him, wasting all his efforts. Instead, he will now go to the Los Angeles Lakers and be their primary superstar for the next decade. The franchise in purple and gold will look to build a team around him, whereas the Mavericks home Anthony Davis brings them their second title.
