Following another disappointing run at the Winter Classic, the Chicago Blackhawks prepare for the 2024-25 regular season games. The team got absolutely wrecked in front of approximately 40,000 fans at Wrigley Field in the game against the St. Louis Blues.

They really wished to break their losing streak in the Winter Classic games but instead fell to their opponent with a 6-2 record. Chicago Blackhawks players commented on their “disappointing” season and how “sorry” they feel for their fans.

We obviously in our room are disappointed with ourselves but I feel bad for our fan base coming out to this and we kind of lay an egg…Those tickets aren’t cheap.

During the game, the St. Louis Blues took charge with a 2-0 lead by scoring first within 1:40. While Blackhawks winger Taylor Hall tried to catch up the score leading 2-1, the team eventually gave up a lot of goals to led their opponents instead.

Hall states that the team lost their “mojo” and lacked the confidence to take the lead in the game. So far they’ve lost five straight games adding to their frustration.

I’m shocked at how we played. It’s really disappointing. Our fans have been through so much this year and they really came and supported us today… For us to lay an egg like that, I’m really sad for the people that support us.

The fans booed the team as they walked by, trailing 5-1 at the end of the second period. Bedard labeled how they got absolutely “dog-walked” by their opponents in front of their family and fan base.

Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno comments on team’s 6-2 loss

Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno is flabbergasted on what to say or feel after they handed their fan base another loss in the Winter Classics. He said what made this loss “st*nk” the most was despite the positive energy and support from the fans, they failed to perform.

Foligno admitted that they thought this game against the Blues would be their turning point given how much pumped up they were prior to the game. “We’re tired of disappointing,” Foligno said.

The lead up, everything was amazing, but then you don’t win and look at it now, you feel like crap. It (st**ks). You’ve got your family out there waiting. They froze their (b***s) off for four hours to watch you and you’re not able to go out there with big smiles and make it the night what it should be.

With how the team is performing, their execution needs to change. The team had a positive vibe before skating on ice for Winter Classics, but they lost their confidence and got overpowered by their opponents. Going into regular season games, everyone is looking forward to a positive stage and a way to break their losing curse.
