‘Blunt’ Malik Nabers has a brutal 3-word message for post-Daniel Jones-era Giants after Buccaneers loss

Rookie Malik Nabers subtly criticized Brian Daboll and his staff, shifting blame away from Daniel Jones after the loss to the Buccaneers.

Rookie Malik Nabers has received passes from Daniel Jones and Tommy DeVito, but it seems the outcome remained the same. In fact, it got worse when the New York Giants welcomed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home on Sunday.

Baker Mayfield single-handedly swept the Giants aside and secured a whopping 7-30 win for the South Beach team. The 100th anniversary hasn’t gone according to plan for the Giants with a dysfunctional roster that can’t seem to either score or stop conceding points.

Even in the post-Daniel Jones era, the Giants remain the same team. Nabers, who doesn’t shy away from making himself heard, had a lot to say about their latest loss. According to the rookie wideout, the quarterback isn’t the problem.

It ain’t the quarterback. [It’s the] Same outcome when we had DJ [Daniel Jones] at quarterback. I don’t know what it is. Everybody knows better than me… I know I’m tired of losing.

Malik Nabers, who led the Giants with six catches for 64 yards, told Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic

The Buccaneers scored from five of their six possessions to reach the 30 points. Nabers called the defense soft, which was backed by defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.

We played soft, and they beat the s**t out of us today.

Dexter Lawrence said

Not only that, the Giants also gave away several penalties to hand the ball back to the Buccaneers at crucial moments in the game.

Malik Nabers seems fed up with the lack of distribution

DeVito didn’t show anything new on his first start of the season. Both his and Jones’ stats from the Giants’ narrow loss against the Panthers were identical. Jones completed 22 passes for 190 yards and two interceptions last week, while DeVito completed 21 passes for 189 yards against the Bucs.

Nabers has done his part when given the ball, but a receiver can’t do everything by himself. He ran the routes and got clear of his markers, but the ball arrived after the Giants were twenty points down.

I mean, I can’t do nothing. Start getting the ball when it’s 30-0. What do you want me to do?

Malik Nabers complained

The loss dropped the New York team down further into the pits of despair, where they lay with a 2-9 record. Nabers is one of the few shining lights who put up numbers in this messy situation.

In eight games, he has recorded 61 receptions for 607 yards and three touchdowns, with a couple of 100-yard games against the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Commanders.
