Bo Nix is focused on getting the Broncos eleventh win of the year instead of thinking about teams whom they defeated to win ten games.

The Denver Broncos and Bo Nix were expected to take the next step in 2025. Sean Payton’s team not only won games, but they are 10-2 and trailing only the 11-2 New England Patriots for the AFC number one seed.

The Broncos boast one of the best defenses in the league. Nik Bonitto and co. lead the league with 4.3 sacks per game and have allowed just 20 touchdowns all year.

According to Associated Press contributor Josh Dubow, the Broncos’ defense hasn’t allowed an opening drive touchdown this year. In fact, that run stretches back to the last campaign (15 total games).

Does the offense hold up in comparison to the defense? Nix has undeniably stepped up his game since his rookie year, but some might argue that he tends to fade from view for long stretches until the game hits garbage time.

In fact, nine of the ten victories were decided by a one-score margin, indicating that the opponents were close to winning the game. Furthermore, three of those nine wins were secured by a margin of three points or fewer.

Naturally, Nix’s game quickly came under the scanner. The second-year signal caller has completed 61.6% of his passes for 2742 yards, 19 passing touchdowns, and 9 interceptions. He’s also added 3 scores on the ground.

Nix is not opposed to criticism directed at him, but he has an issue with fans undermining the Bronocs’ 10-2 start to the season. In a fiery response this week, Nix defended the offense.

You’ve worked hard, and you’ve gotten yourself to a 10-2 record. We believe we could’ve been even better. It’s all about moving forward. It’s the next mentality. It’s the next game.

Nix is focused on the future rather than contemplating the past. A positive result in Vegas this week could set the tone for the remainder of the year.

We’ve got an important one this week, a divisional game on the road [against the Raiders]. Those are always important to go out there and get. They [the Raiders are] a tough team, they’re a hungry team, they have veteran players who are going to play really hard, and I think at the end of the day, you’ve just got to keep moving on. But at the same time, don’t forget how far you’ve come and where you are as a team.

The Broncos are on the track

The Broncos are on the same path as their divisional neighbors, the Kansas City Chiefs, who won 11 one-score games on their way to playing in Super Bowl 59. It’s too early to consider the Broncos a lock for the Super Bowl in Santa Clara next year, but they are definitely trending in the right direction.

Regardless of how the season may appear, let’s not forget that the Broncos have defeated both the Chiefs and the reigning world champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Moreover, they went up against two of the best defenses in the league, the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys, and scored a combined 63 points.

A tweet from Dubow revealed that the Broncos are the second team to win 4 straight games in the same season by 3 points or fewer. The New York Giants pulled it off in 1986 on their way to winning the Super Bowl.

A win against the Raiders is crucial for the Broncos’ bid for a postseason bye. Currently, the Broncos are overwhelming favorites to secure their eleventh victory for the first time since winning the Super Bowl in 2015.
