Bo Nix has learned a trick or two from his head coach, Sean Payton, on how to handle the press. The second-year quarterback’s reaction to learning that the 11-2 Denver Broncos are underdogs in Week 15 left reporters doused in laughter.
Nix has his doubters, but he gets the job done when asked by Payton. The 24-17 victory against the two-win Las Vegas Raiders wasn’t pretty. Nix did not throw a passing touchdown despite completing 81% of his passes. However, he made it up with a score on the ground.
Not only that, but he has thrown just 4 touchdowns since throwing four against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8.
In the meantime, Jordan Love, whom Nix will go up against over the weekend, is among the favorites for the NFL MVP title. In the Green Bay Packers’ four-game winning streak (Giants, Vikings, Lions, and the Bears), Love has thrown for 700+ yards and 9 touchdowns.
The 9-3-1 Packers lead the NFC North and occupy the second seed in the NFC ahead of the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Perhaps that’s the reason Vegas feels the Packers have a better chance of defeating the Broncos, the AFC top seed.
Days ahead of the fixture at Mile High, the Packers are 2.5-point favorites to beat the Broncos.
The Packers are coming into Denver as 2.5-point favorites, which feels pretty disrespectful from @DKSportsbook.

Reporters made Nix aware of it on Wednesday, and the 25-year-old signal caller had this to say:
My mom thinks we’ll win. So that’s all that matters.

Nix comes from a family of athletes. His father, Patrick Nix, played three years of college football at Auburn before transitioning into coaching and is currently the head coach of a local school in Alabama. Nix’s grandfather was Conrad Nix, who coached several football teams for nearly four decades. His mother, Krista Chapman, is a devout Christian and a constant source of support for her son.
Bo Nix is eager to prove the narrative wrong by securing a victory against the Packers
The Packers won’t find it easy to win at Empower Field, which is considered a fortress. Nix and the Broncos have won 11 straight games in their own backyard, a streak that stretches back to October 2024. The Los Angeles Chargers handed the Broncos a 23-16 defeat on that day.

Sunday will be the first time Nix will face the Packers in a competitive game in his fledgling NFL career. Love, on the other hand, has played against the Broncos before.
After taking over from Aaron Rodgers as the full-time starter in 2023, Love led the Packers to a 17-19 defeat against the Denver franchise. He threw for 180 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 1 interception that day.
Moreover, the Broncos lead the series 8-7-1, and Nix is eager to continue their dominance.
I know they’re going to come in with a really good plan. I know it’s going to be a really good football game… It’s pretty much going to be like playoff football, and that’s what you get in December. At the end of the season, that’s what you’re playing for.

It will be a big test of Nix’s mettle as a franchise quarterback. He knows how to block out the outside chatter, but he also has to deliver on the field for the naysayers to see him as a serious threat.
According to StatMuse, Nix has a passer rating of 91.8 with 1,089 yards, 8 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in 4 games against the NFC in 2025. So, it will be an intriguing battle against him and the Packers.
