After this, the officer asks him who his son is. Throughout the video, he keeps informing the officers that his arrest can cost the Kansas City Chiefs their Super Bowl win.
Patrick Mahomes Sr. failed the sobriety tests given by the cops
At one point, Mahomes Sr. began to inform the cops of his influence in the media in a desperate attempt to leverage them to let him go.
Dude. This is crazy. My son is getting ready to play in the f***** Super Bowl and I’m doing interviews- five or six a day. And then, now this s***s going to be on the news which is going to f*** with him, and it’s probably going to f*** him up. And he probably won’t win the Super Bowl. But that’s fine. If that’s what y’all want to do, that’s good.
Patrick Mahomes Sr. continued in his outburst
While he was able to speak in a calm and composed tone to the cops, Pat Mahomes Sr. was asked to do the tests to check his balance and he ended up stumbling through them.

At this point, the cops cuffed him and arrested him. It was later determined that he had a blood alcohol level of .23. He was released shortly after the arrest and was in the presence to watch his son Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the 49ers in a nail-biting overtime match.
The legal implication of this incident was Patrick Mahomes Sr. being charged with a felony count of DWI third or more and receiving a five-year probation sentence after he reached a deal with prosecutors late in the summer. He described the entire ordeal as “an eye-opener” for him and that he has remained sober since.
