“Throw your Christmas KDs in the lake” – Body-shaming fan gets SAVAGE reply from Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant

In an era where sports stars typically have their management teams handle almost everything, including their public statements, Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant has stood out as a notable exception. The two-time NBA champion has carved out a reputation for speaking for himself, particularly on social media, where he frequently engages with fans and even responds to trolls.

Kevin Durant was at it again when he clapped back at a fan on X who accused him of being self-centered and reminded him of the controversial way in which he won his two rings. This latest response from KD is coming off the back of another message he had for a fan who downplayed his contributions to the sport.

The Slim Reaper’s no-nonsense reputation has endeared him to a lot and at the same time provided ammunition for his critics and haters. One such critic is controversial ESPN First Take host, Stephen A. Smith, who accused the Suns’ star of lacking in leadership.

Notwithstanding, Durant has been able to block out the unnecessary noise as he has started the season in tremendous form. Sadly, an indefinite injury has curtailed his ascent and in his absence, the Phoenix Suns fell to the Sacramento Kings.

Phoenix Suns’ win streak snapped as Sacramento Kings win overtime thriller in Kevin Durant’s absence

It wasn’t the night they hoped for but in the absence of talisman Kevin Durant, the Phoenix Suns’ seven-game win streak came to an end on Sunday, as they lost 127-118 in overtime to the Sacramento Kings at home. The defeat marked the Suns’ first game without injured star Kevin Durant, who will miss two weeks with a left calf strain.

Bradley Beal led the Suns with 28 points and eight rebounds, while Devin Booker added 23 points and 12 assists. The sensational Tyus Jones chipped in with a season-high 22 points, which included six 3-pointers.

However, the Kings’ balanced attack proved too much, as DeMar DeRozan scored 34 points and Domantas Sabonis contributed 20 points and 12 rebounds. De’Aaron Fox then sealed the win for the Kings with eight points in overtime, as he finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

The Suns will look to bounce back on Tuesday against the Utah Jazz in their first game of the NBA Cup’s West Group B in-season tournament. And will hope that the absence of KD doesn’t prove to be a bad omen.
