Charlotte Hornets had never lost any game in this season when they led entering the 4th quarter, until they faced Atlanta Hawks in their latest game. Bogdan Bogdanovic led the Hawks, scoring 32 points, to end this unique Hornets streak, hitting career high eight 3-pointers. Hawks trailed by 10 points entering the 4th quarter and won 105-101.

Clint Capela too was impressive for the short-handed Hawks as he knocked a significant double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds. The Hawks have won 6 out of 7 latest games, heading into the 4th spot in the Eastern Conference.

Atlanta Hawks coach Nate McMillan said he spoke to Bogdan Bogdanovic about passing up too many open shots recently. The 28-year-old responded by making 9 of 22 shots from the field, including 8 of 16 from beyond the arc.

“We had to lean on him probably a little more tonight because we were without a couple of guys,” McMillan said. “I thought he was aggressive. He had some shots that I thought were tough shots, but he was playing with a lot of confidence.”

Miles Bridges led the Hornets with 23 points, and Terry Rozier had 18 points. The Hawks built a 24-7 lead in the early going, holding the Hornets to just 2 of 13 from the field.

The away team rallied to tie it with 2:42 left after Lou Williams connected on two 3s and Clint Capela got free for a dunk off a pretty feed from Goodwin. Williams put the Hawks ahead for good when he scored over Jalen McDaniels on a floating bank shot with 57 seconds left.

The Charlotte Hornets had a chance to take the lead after a defensive stop with 13.8 seconds left. They pushed the ball up the court, but Rozier missed a hurried 3 from the right corner.
