Did Malik Nabers not want to play with Daniel Jones on his debut? Well, after seeing the disastrous end to the New York Giants’ season-opener, LeSean McCoy put forward this wild theory.

Since drafting the rookie wide receiver as the sixth overall pick, the Giants had strategized him as the main target for quarterback Jones. They went ahead with this strategy in the season-opening game against the Minnesota Vikings, however, things went sideways. Logging five catches for 66 yards, Nabers was unhappy with his team, especially the signal-caller.

During the post-game interview, Nabers didn’t hold back from highlighting the mistakes by the Giants quarterback, saying he doesn’t know about Jones’ process. The rookie’s kindling words for his quarterback have sparked a huge reaction from all over the internet, including pundits who put forward the theory that Nabers isn’t too thrilled with his pairing with Jones.

One of those pundits was McCoy in the latest episode of The Facility. While discussing Nabers’ post-game press conference about the Giants signal-caller, the former NFL running back claimed that the rookie doesn’t want to play for Jones. He clarified that he isn’t making such a claim because of a press conference, but he got this vibe from the rookie when he spoke to him at last year’s rookie symposium.

I had a chance to talk to him at the symposium, and we're just talking. He didn't say this, but he wasn't super excited to play for Daniel Jones. But it's like Yo, my quarterback is like, he looked at me like what the f*** am I supposed to do with him? And that's my thing. If I'm a teammate, I am not happy to play Sundays with this guy.

Meanwhile, Jones is giving his best to reflect confidence despite criticism because of the bizarre 28-6 defeat by the hands of conference rivals, the Vikings. They will be facing up against the Washington Commanders next week, on Sunday.

Head coach Brian Daboll is also expressing confidence in the quarterback and insisted for him to stay starting. Both he and Jones know numerous things need to be taken care of, but while doing so, they are keeping their heads high and believing in themselves above everything else.
