Novak Djokovic arrived in Paris and began his preparations for the upcoming Paris Olympics, a tournament he said was his main priority all year. His former coach Boris Becker claimed that the Serbian’s drive to recover from knee surgery, take part in Wimbledon, and now the Summer Games was as good as a miracle.
Djokovic has surprisingly not won any title this year. His only final appearance came at the SW19 this month, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz. Despite doing his best to regain his fitness for the grass Major, he could not match the Spaniard and lost in straight sets to settle for a runner-up finish for the second year in a row.
Despite the result, Djokovic’s former coach Boris Becker believes that he has had the perfect build-up for the Olympics.
He got injured at the French Open and had a small surgery, so to make the final at Wimbledon was close to a miracle. For him, it was vital to come back as quickly as possible as he has said all year that the Olympics in Paris will be one of his big focuses for this yearBoris Becker said (via Discovery+)
Djokovic is said to be putting all his energy into the singles this year and has decided against playing in the doubles in Paris.
Boris Becker is happy that Novak Djokovic is still around in the tennis circuit
There has been a change in generations as top players like Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, and Stan Wawrinka are all close to retirement. While Murray will finish his career at the Olympics, Nadal is still unsure about when his career will end, though he has acknowledged that it is coming soon.

With Roger Ferderer retiring in 2022, only one player from the Big Three, Novak Djokovic, remains fully active on the ATP tour. Former German player Boris Becker has stated that he was happy to witness Djokovic on the men’s tour taking on the future stars of the sport.
It is normal that you have new guys like Alcaraz and Sinner and Zverev coming up and knocking at the door. This is evolution. What I can say is I’m happy Noak is still around because you want to see the King, which is Novak, playing against the future kings. These are always the best matches.Boris Becker said (via Discovery+)
With the Olympics set to begin in a couple of days, Djokovic is one of the favorites to win the tennis event. Though he has not been in his best form lately, playing for Serbia tends to bring out the best in him and he will be eager to do his best to clinch the elusive gold medal.
