Borussia Dortmund confirm gentleman’s agreement with Jadon Sancho

Jadon Sancho is one of the youngest stars of the new generation. A number of clubs had tried to sign him last summer, but Dortmund held on to their prised possession.

Borussia Dortmund’s club sporting director Michael Zorc revealed that Sancho has a gentleman’s agreement with the club to which allows him to leave this summer. Another of Dortmund’s young star Erling Haaland however, does not have any such agreement and is expected to stay beyond the summer.

Sancho was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer from current club Borussia Dortmund.

The German side wanted at least £100million for the winger, which Manchester United were unwilling to pay.

“We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions,” Zorc told ARD . The director also added, “he’s(Sancho) been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exist with Erling.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are expected to renew their interest in Sancho this summer, as the Norwegian seeks to strengthen his squad ahead of a possible Premier League title till next term.

Manchester United will be buoyed by the confirmation that Dortmund have accepted that Sancho could depart at the end of the campaign “under certain conditions”.

It will be interesting to see where Jadon Sancho ultimatly ends up this summer.
