“Series over!” – Boston Celtics BLOW OUT Luka Doncic and his 30-point double-double in Game 1 of NBA Finals, fans react
Dallas Mavericks get blown out in Game 1 of NBA Finals.
Basketball fans shocked at disappointing play from Dallas Mavericks to foil Luka Doncic's double-double in blow-out loss to Boston Celtics
Game 1 of the NBA Finals is over. The Boston Celtics blew the Dallas Mavericks in their own arena with a 107-89 scoreline. Luka Doncic had the best stat line of any player on the field. However, that does not reveal the entire story.
At one point in the first half, the Boston Celtics were up by 29 points. They came out the gates dominating the 1st quarter at the hands of the returning Kristaps Porzingis. That continued in the second quarter, where they looked like a team wanting to send a message that the title is theirs. But Doncic led the team back to within 8 points. However, with Kyrie Irving echoing what the entire team was struggling with, the game fell back into the hands of the Celtics.
Irving and his teammates, not from Slovenia, shot poorly the entire night. Their 3-point stat line is something they themselves would like to forget. But their ball movement was nowhere close to what has been the norm for the team throughout the second half of the season.
Luka Doncic himself had only one assist. A career playoff low. How could the Dallas Mavericks even think of winning with such mediocre performances? Mavs fans of the game felt the same and are demanding an improvement to the snooze fest of a game this turned out to be.
Fans not happy with Luka Doncic’s teammates
All the talk prior to the NBA Finals was about how the Dallas Mavericks were capable enough to win against the Boston Celtics. Especially many were looking forward to how Kyrie Irving and the rest of the players would go up against the title favorites. If Game 1 was any indication of what the matchup actually will be, fans rather switch to watching something else.
They demanded on social media that Irving and the rest of the Mavericks justify their presence in the NBA Finals. Check out some of those reactions below;
Game 2 is on Sunday. A chance for the Dallas Mavericks to redeem themselves and bring some fight into this series. Else they could be staring at a disappointing end to their season.
