His trainer literally just stood there for 30 seconds & did nothing. His opponent came over and checked on him before the trainer did.

Wait does this count as a KO

At first I thought he had a heart attack but it looks like that head butt has a delayed effect.

Looks like the ice pack in the neck made him pass out. My question is why did his whole corner react that way like they don’t have any concern for their fighter? They need to be fired ASAP I don’t want people in my corner that don’t worry for my well being.

As expected, many fans were shocked by the incident and showed concern for Joseph George’s situation. However, many pointed out how the fighter’s cornermen just stood there and didn’t try to help immediately. Many mentioned that the boxer should look forward to changing his team soon.
Dangers of head trauma in boxing
Head trauma in boxing is one of the most serious and long-term dangers linked with professional and amateur competition. Repeated blows to the head can cause concussions, brain swelling, internal bleeding, and progressive neurological disorders over time. Even when knockouts do not occur, sub-concussive impacts accumulate and gradually damage delicate brain tissue.

One of the most feared consequences is Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, commonly known as CTE, affecting retired fighters. CTE leads to memory loss, depression, impaired judgment, and eventually severe cognitive decline. UFC veteran Daniel Cormier once mentioned how this makes boxing more dangerous than MMA.
Boxing is more dangerous than MMA. (In MMA) They jump on me and hit me on the ground with your body, I will argue with you that that’s safer than you knocking me unconscious. My body, which I’ve been trained my whole life to get up from, kicks up and helps me eight times, and then they go back to fight mode. But if you still kick up, I get up, and then you continue to punch me in the head.

The tragic case of Prichard Colon highlights how dangerous a single fight can become for a boxer. In 2015, Colon suffered repeated illegal punches to the back of his head, causing catastrophic brain injury. He collapsed afterward, underwent emergency brain surgery, and has required lifelong care since that devastating bout.
Another example includes Muhammad Ali, who developed Parkinson’s symptoms years after his legendary boxing career ended. Although Ali’s greatness is unquestioned, his health struggles sparked global discussions about boxing’s long-term neurological consequences.
