“Backed out like a little puppy”- Anthony Taylor and AJ Mckee react to weigh-in bust up with Nate Diaz
Anthony Taylor reacts to scuffle with Nate Diaz and team during weigh-ins
Nate Diaz and his crew getting into scuffles is nothing new to the world of fighting. This time Anthony Taylor and AJ McKee are at the receiving end.
UFC superstar Nate Diaz has his protege Chris Avilla taking on boxer Anthony Taylor in the undercard of the Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley II. The fight takes place on December 18th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. During the weigh-ins at the venue, the Stockton crew ganged up on Avilla’s opponent and made things physical as water bottles and hands were being thrown.
Both Chris and Anthony’s sides did not back down from an altercation. While Avilla had the UFC welterweight superstar, Taylor had Bellator’s #1 pound-for-pound fighter and current featherweight champion AJ McKee backing him in the scuffle. After all the tensions cooled down, Taylor took the time to talk to reporter The Schmo, about the bust-up.
“Yeah it was pretty sticky out there but we had the mop and we cleaned it up,” said Taylor about the fight between the two teams. “You know, Nate is always looking for something to start. He couldn’t swallow what he could chew. My team was there, his team was there, and he backed down like a puppy.”
AJ McKee chimes in on the Anthony Taylor-Nate Diaz scuffle
While Anthony was talking to the interviewer, the Bellator champ, AJ McKee felt it was important to barge in the interview and clear things out for the public. “Man disrespect is disrespect. That’s my take on it. You only get so many passes. They like to throw bottles, I like to throw hands,” said AJ talking about Diaz’s crew acting up.
“Couple little deep breaths. Got my dad there, my family. It is a little personal over here. I’ve been able to set my emotions aside this entire time. But I feel like it is beyond that, he’s not touched in my presence. That’s out of respect for me or everybody else. The level of disrespect has been ditched out and it won’t go unaware of,” said AJ further revealing he is open to fight the UFC superstar.
Nate is currently on the last fight of his UFC contract and is currently looking for a fight to end his contract. Diaz is not lonely once he gets done with MMA as there is a list of fighters that are waiting to get a fight with the Diaz brother. AJ McKee is one of them.
