“Will see in 2 years”-Canelo Alvarez refuses to rule out a potential bout against Jake Paul

Jake paul has taken the world of boxing with surprise and is currently undefeated as a professional boxer. Although Paul has never fought a proper boxer, more and more people are now confident about his standing as a boxer. Other than boxing, Paul has also involved himself in promoting other boxing events and has successfully brought new fans to the sport.
Recently, while co-promoting the Serrano vs Taylor fight with British promoter Eddie Hearn, Paul discussed the possibility of fighting Alvarez. In a recent interview with the MMA Hour’s Ariel Helwani, Hearn revealed that during their conversation Paul told that he will beat Alvarez after two years.
Canelo Alvarez comments on fighting Jake Paul
Alvarez was recently interviewed by the media when he was asked the question about what he thinks of fighting Jake Paul.
While responding to the question, although the champion was a little annoyed he answered the question in a calm and reasonable way. Alvarez asked the media individuals to stop asking him about Paul again and again. The fighter explained that he might think about it after two years but not now.
The Mexican suggested that he would like to see Paul improve more as a fighter and work harder. Alvarez also revealed Paul has a huge fan base and he is bringing new eyes to the sport and it’s good for boxing.” The thing I’m thinking about is why you asking me for that. Especially fight Jake Paul. Please guys. Maybe in two years like he says, maybe in two years we can talk.. I hope he improve more and he do really good job… Everything is good for boxing. He brings more fans to boxing, everything is good,” said Alvarez.
It was some nice words from Alvarez as unlike many he didn’t totally refuse to fight Paul or made fun of him. Instead the fighter spoke like a true champion and is ready for that fight in two years. It will be interesting to see if this could ever take place as the fans will be excited for it.
