There was once a war of words between the UFC former bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather. The feud started after Mayweather appeared on ESPN to promote his fight with Andre Berto. Subsequently, they asked him how he felt about Rousey winning the Fighter of The Year title at ESPYs.
Mayweather replied that he had not heard about her before this, but he was happy for the UFC and Ronda Rousey for their accomplishments. Furthermore, Floyd boasted about winning that title for the last six years. Rousey responded to his comment by referencing his domestic violence charges and prison time. Rousey claimed she could easily beat Mayweather in a fight, and then he would remember her. Mayweather responded to her by saying, “I’ve yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes”.
In an interview with TMZ, Rousey responded to his comment by saying she was the highest-paid UFC fighter. The interviewer asked her if she earned more than Mayweather, and she said she did the math. Furthermore, Rousey boasted about her accomplishments and mocked Mayweather for his rumored illiteracy.
Typically, a war of words leads to a payoff through a matchup between two fighters. However, in this case, the back and forth between Mayweather and Rousey did not shape up to become a fight.
Floyd Mayweather spars with rapper Blueface
“The Thotiana” rapper BlueFace and the undefeated boxer, Floyd Mayweather sparred inside the squared circle. It was safe to say that it did not go well for the rapper.
The sparring session was held at Mayweather’s Las Vegas, Nevada-based gym, where Blueface got to test himself against Mayweather. As seen in the clips that went viral, Blueface had headgear and a mouthpiece. The rapper tried to land a few shots, but Mayweather avoided them and countered with punches of his own.
Since making his professional debut in 2021, Blueface has made a name for himself as an amateur boxer. In the summer of 2021, Blueface made his amateur debut against TikTok sensation Kane Trujillo. Subsequently, the fight went for three rounds, and Blueface won unanimously.
