“Gun pointed in my face”- Former unified champion Amir Khan recounts the horrifying moment he was mugged in London

Amir Khan shares his recent encounter with thieves who took his watch at gunpoint. Khan is considered one of the biggest boxers in British history, the former unified light-welterweight world champion, and has an impressive professional record of 34-6 with 21 Knockout wins.
Khan recently fought Kell Brook on 19 Feb 2022 inside the AO Arena, Manchester, England. In the fight, Khan was outclassed by Brook in every aspect of the game and lost the fight via TKO in the 6th round.
After that dominating loss, Khan hinted that he might retire from professional boxing soon. While talking to the reporters Khan revealed,
” It’s something to think about, definitely, I’ve always said I never want boxing to retire me, I want to retire from boxing.”

Amir Khan tweets about getting robbed at gunpoint

Amir Khan recently put out a tweet on his official Twitter account. In this tweet, the fighter shared his experience last night of how he got mugged.
Khan explained that last night in Leyton, East London he found himself in some serious trouble. He was crossing the road along with his wife, Faryal Makhdoom. Khan revealed that suddenly two men came up to him and asked him to take off his wristwatch by pointing a gun at him. According to Khan, his wife was, fortunately, a few steps behind him and both of them are safe now as nothing more serious happened.
“Just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton. I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was few steps behind me. 2 men ran to me, he asked for my watch whist having a gun pointed in my face. The main thing is we’re both safe,” wrote Khan.
After the incident took place, the Metropolitan police confirmed that they have started their investigation. The police also released a statement that said “A man aged in his 30s is alleged to have been approached by two males who threatened him with a firearm before stealing his watch and fleeing.
