“I heard a voice”- Tyson Fury reveals what prompted his pursuit of clinical help for his mental health

In 2018, Tyson Fury revealed that after defeating Wladimir Klitschko and unifying the belts he got caught by alcohol and drug addiction. It got to the point where it was unavoidable for the champion to control his own thoughts. His mental health was destroyed and wanted to die in order to escape the pain.
The fighter revealed that in 2016, his suicidal thoughts were so extreme that he once tried to end his life. Fury took his brand new Ferrari convertible and headed towards the bridge at 190 mph. As he was going to jump and end his life something happened in his mind and he stopped his car.

Fury was recently interviewed by ESPN in which the heavyweight champion discussed what went through his mind during his suicide attempt.
In the interview, Fury revealed that as he was going to drive his Ferrari off the bridge he heard a voice that asked him to stop. It forced him to think of his children and family and how his death will destroy their lives too. The fighter remembered that he immediately hit the brakes and stopped the car. After that, he was covered in sweat and at that moment he realised that he needs to get medical assistance as he can’t carry on on his own.
“I’m heading towards that bridge at high speed to end it and I heard a voice speak to me..and It said stop, do not do this. Think of your children, think of you family. You’re gonna destruct everyone’s lives and I immediately pulled over stopped the car to a halt and I could feel sweat coming down me face and me heart was beating out me body. I knew that couldn’t do it on my own anymore, I needed medical help,” said Fury.
Tyson Fury is a prime example of an individual who fought his own demons and made it back. Let’s see if the fighter can continue his dominance inside the ring as he defends his titles against Dillan Whyte on 23 April.
